Specifications

When plaque builds up on plaque, they harden and form a tough mineral called tartar. Bacteria can live under tartar and cause dental disease, and dental hygienists remove tartar during a process called scaling. After scraping off the hard tartar with a special instrument, the hygienist rubs the teeth again. Tooth polishing removes surface stains from the teeth, making the teeth shiny and smooth, providing the ultimate touch for dental care.

Spraying with air, water and abrasives removes stains more efficiently and quickly than with rubber cups and water repellents. More importantly, air polishing is generally less irritating to enamel. Sodium bicarbonate is often used as an abrasive in air polishing, but glycine (a naturally occurring amino acid) is less abrasive and equally effective
